Economical Process Indicator: • Place a steam sterilization indicator strip inside every pouch, pack or cassette prior to steam sterilization. • Indicators turn color from white to black in steam process or white to brown in chemical vapor process. • Visible assurance that package or load was exposed to the sterilization process. All Pouches and Packs Should Include Internal and External Chemical Indicators: • Early indicator of possible sterilizer malfunction or operator error. • Provides feedback on sterilization functions between weekly biological monitoring – spore tests.
